Refugee Education Enhancement

In 2017, Whole Heart International began partnering with LAMSA, an education enhancement center located near Erbil. This center was started by a Syrian Kurdish refugee family who saw a need in their community and opened their home to children who were not attending school.

Since then, Whole Heart International has supported the education of 100+ refugee children through this center. The center now offers Arabic, English, and math lessons on a weekly basis. The center has also run seasonal programs such as health education program and a science program.

Testimonials

Not just today, but everyday that I have come here, I had a lot of fun. Your coming and going with the children (the way you treat the children) is very good. - S., 12

I really like the science program. We learned a lot of things, especially about animals and how to take care of them and not hurt them, and take care of the earth. Thank you very much, it was a wonderful program. - N., 10.

Help Us Support More Refugee Children

Our current location is no longer able to accommodate all the children who want to attend the education enhancement center. As a result, Whole Heart International is raising funds for a community center that will be located in the heart of the refugee community where we serve.

This center will be the new home for LAMSA as well as Whole Heart International’s many programs.

Help us reach our goal by joining our “Walk with a Purpose” this November!
